The Lantern Festival is a Chinese festival celebrated on the fifteenth day of the first month in the lunisolar Chinese calendar. It marks the final day of the traditional Chinese New Year celebrations.
Traditional, Taiwanese will eat “Tang Yuan”,🍡, which is made from glutinous rice with round shape. In Taipei city, there are two locations that sell “Tang Yuan”.🏮
a. Ta-Yi Milk King: This is located near National Taiwan University. Their Tang Yuan with sesame filling ($80) are impeccable and handmade. The picture on the top would be the Pineapple shaved ice ($70). Taiwanese believe that eating pineapple will bring good luck for a whole year
b. East Section Boba Shop: You can choose three side ingredients and one main ingredient. I always choose soybean pudding with small rice ball, boba and peanut ($60).
